YOUTH FOR CHRIST UPDATE
FIND OUT WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING AROUND YOUTH FOR CHRIST OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS.
Mullingar
CATALYST 2025
In May, Youth for Christ partnered with three churches in Mullingar to host a youth event in the Midlands. We had a band from the US lead the worship and some guest speakers shared about their ministries. There were also opportunities for the young people to respond to God. Additionally we set up the Nomad soccer cage and had a BBQ for the young people. We had around 130 students participate with groups coming from Sligo and Longford Youth for Christ also.
Longford
PRAYER SPACES
““I want to thank you for bringing me here today. I lost track of the true meaning of life, but you brought me back.””
A Prayer Space gives young people an opportunity to reflect about life’s questions. They explore prayer for themselves in an engaging, creative and interactive environment. Over the past nine months Marian has facilitated 19 Prayer Spaces, in various settings – retreats, schools, churches, and a caravan! The caravan travelled to visit six national schools engaging with over 170 children.

MIDLANDS YOUTH HUB
YFC Ireland had to make the very difficult decision to let go of our building in Mullingar, which allowed us to engage with thousands of young people over the past six years. We’re both celebrating what it has achieved and grieving the loss. Youth for Christ are still at work in Mullingar, we continue to support Alpha courses in local schools and are involved in the development of local youth ministry.
Sligo
MOVE 2025
Youth for Christ in Sligo were able to secure over €15,000 through Foundation for the Nations to help bring more young people to Move from Sligo, Longford and Castlebar. This funding will enable young people to receive sizeable discounts on their ticket costs as well as covering their travel and other details.
WHERE HAVE WE ENCOUNTERED YOUNG PEOPLE?
170 in secondary schools
230 in primary schools
18 in youth groups
26 going to MOVE
130 at Catalyst
Where are we at work?
-
In Sligo, the focus is on strengthening our existing youth group, providing ongoing one-to-one discipleship, and actively recruiting young people to attend MOVE camp in the summer.
-
In Longford, ministry continues to grow through deepening church relationships and a strong emphasis on engaging school students through creative Prayer Spaces and school-based outreach.
-
In Mullingar, the emphasis has been on building connections through school work in the Christian Brothers School and Wilson’s Hospital School, as well as leading the successful Catalyst youth event in partnership with local churches.

Where will your support go?
When you give to Youth for Christ Ireland, your support directly empowers ministry. Approximately 50% of all donations go toward funding our dedicated youth workers who build relationships, disciple young people, and lead life-changing programs across the country.
Another 30% supports our essential behind-the-scenes work—administration, communications, and fundraising—which keeps the ministry running smoothly and sustainably.
The remaining 20% covers practical needs like office space (10%), travel and ministry vehicles (5%), and resources for events and outreach (5%).
Every euro you give helps us reach and invest in the next generation.
